The Philadelphia Section PGA Junior Tour visited Meadowlands Country Club in Blue Bell, PA on Wednesday, August 18, 2010. Rain showers skirted to the south and east of Meadowlands all day while 59 juniors played the par 71 ~ 6,565/6,201/5,716 yards long golf course. Some were trying their luck to position themselves on the Player of the Year points list at the last qualifying venue for the Jr. Tour Championship this Monday, August 23^rd, at the Philadelphia Cricket Club.

 

Mike Amole (Huntingdon Valley, PA) and Austin List (Haverford, PA) tied for the low rounds of the tournament and 1^st place in the Boys 16-18 Division with even-par rounds of 71. Coincidentally, both got off to a rough start on their rounds but rebounded beautifully with a combined 10 birdies on their day. Amole was fortunate enough to post a 35 on his back nine to win the scorecard playoff. Kyle Martin (Maple Glen, PA) finished 2 shots off the pace set by Amole and List for 3^rd place.

 

Cole Berman (Rosemont, PA) recorded 3 birdies on his round, including going out in even-par 36 which helped him post a 74 (+3) on his day and 1^st place in the Boys 13-15 Division. Mariano Medico (Shavertown, PA) book ended his round with birdies for 76 (+5) and 2^nd place. In a tie for 3^rd place were Lane Udis (Fort Washington, PA) and Kevin Conners (Downingtown, PA) with a score of 79 (+8).

 

In regulation, Sarah Kokotajlo (Ewing, NJ) and Sammie Faraghan (Mt. Laurel, NJ) both finished with 85’s (+14) on their day in the Girls 13-18 Division. To determine the overall winner, Kokotajlo came out on top with a lower back nine score for 1^st place. Finishing in 3^rd place by the narrowest of margins was Alexis Lo (Mt. Laurel, NJ) with an 86 (+15).

 

Cole Smith (West Chester, PA) won the 9 Hole Division (Boys & Girls 10-12) with an 8-over-par 43. Jacob Suder (Greencastle, PA) was pursuing close behind Smith, posting a 44 (+9) for solo second place. Tied at 47 (+12) for third place were Christian Ritondo (Newtown, PA) and Hirsh Sisodia (Harleysville, PA).
