Linfield National Golf Club (Linfield, PA) welcomed 57 Philadelphia Junior Tour players to an afternoon start on Tuesday, August 3, 2010. Tight competition and numerous ties occurred on the par 71 ~ 6,365/6,014/5,479 yards long golf course.
Cole Berman (Rosemont, PA) shot even par 71 to take first place in the Boys 13-15 Division and post the low round of the tournament. Berman came in 1-under on his back nine, with two birdies on the par 4 13th and 18th holes. Following in second place with a four-over-par 75 was Alex Acciani (Harleysville, PA). Third place went to Ethan Heller (Media, PA) with a 76 (+5).
73 was the hot number in the Boys 16-18 Division, with the top three players all tied at 2-over. Scorecard playoffs were needed to determine all places, which came down to back nine scores. Austin Mann (Collegeville, PA) finished even on the back nine to take first place over Tyler Stong (Ambler, PA). Robert Hoeppner’s (Harleysville, PA) back nine 40 (+4) gave him third.
Madison Gilmartin (Royersford, PA) posted an 81 (+10) for first place in the Girls 13-18 Division. Gilmartin completed her round with pars on every par 3 hole. Second place went to Francesca Ruscio (Jamison, PA) with an 85 (+14), and Jennifer Jenkins (Hatfield, PA) posted a 91 (+20) to take home third.
Quinn Guzman (Souderton, PA) won the 9 Hole Division (Boys & Girls 10-12) with a seven-over-par 42 (+7). Guzman parred the 8th and 9th holes to win by a margin of five strokes over the three players tied for second place in the division. Drew Steinmetz (Gilbertsville, PA), Philip James (Blue Bell, PA), and Franca Hurtado (Macungie, PA) all shot 47 (+12).
