Medford Lakes Country Club (Medford Lakes, NJ) hosted the Philadelphia Junior Tour and 45 players to the par 71/72 ~ 6,141/5,409 yards long golf course. Morning thunderstorms delayed play for 1 hour and 42 minutes with skies clearing shortly after the break in play to allow for a warm but pleasant afternoon.
Oliver White (Lower Gwynedd, PA) posted the low round of the day in the Boys 16-18 Division and the tournament with a round of 72 (+1). White carded 3 birdies which included finishing his round off in style with a birdie at the last hole. Kevin Webb (Doylestown, PA) wrapped up 2nd place with an 18 hole score of 75 (+4) which bettered 3rd place finishers Ty Flagler (North Wales, PA) and Denis Dotson (Yardley, PA) by 5 shots.
Kenneth Taras (Moorestown, NJ) and Anthony Hoffman (Philadelphia, PA) finished in a tie for 1st place with their rounds of 76 (+5). To settle their tie, a scorecard playoff was needed which came down to their back nine scores. Taras fired an even par 35 on the back which gave him 1st place honors in the Boys 13-15 Division. Tyler Cross (Bear, DE) rounded out the top 3 by finishing with an 18 hole score of 79 (+8).
Alexis Lo (Mount Laurel, NJ) won the Girls 13-18 Division by the narrowest of margins over Francesca Ruscio (Jamison, PA) by posting an 80 (+8) on 18 holes. One highlight to mention on Lo’s round was her lone birdie that came at the par 4, 10th. Tara Bolger (Haddonfield, NJ) came in with 89 (+17) for 3rd place overall.
Chris Chiminski (Newtown, PA) placed 1st in the 9 Hole Division (Boys & Girls 10-12) with a front nine score of 49 (+13). Chiminski was able to have 1 par going out which occurred at the par 3, 7th. In his 1st tournament on tour, Stevie Eigenrauch (Moorestown, NJ) placed 2nd with his score of 56 (+20). Samantha Yao (Berwyn, PA) placed 3rd with her front nine score of 58 (+22).
