Huntsville Golf Club (Lehman, PA) welcomed the Philadelphia Junior Tour and 38 players with open arms and kicked off the 2010 Pocono Series. The par 72 ~ 6, 477/6,127/5,396 yards long golf course did not yield many low scores but Austin List (Haverford, PA) was an exception. List posted the low round in the Boys 16-18 Division and the tournament with a round of 74 (+2). Some highlights to mention on List’s round were his birdies on the 7th, 10th and 14th holes. Jonathan Burns (Hatfield, PA) came in 2nd place with 78 (+6) which bettered 3rd place finisher Evan Leas (Shavertown, PA) by 1 shot.
Stewart Rickenbach (Doylestown, PA) bested all boys in the 13-15 Division with an 18 hole score of 77 (+5). One highlight to mention on Rickenbach’s round was his lone birdie that came at the par 4 10th. Also finishing at 77 was Sam Soeth (Newtown Square, PA) but was on the losing end of a scorecard playoff with Rickenbach which came down to their back nine scores. W. Evan Thornton (Wyomissing, PA) rounded out the top 3 by posting an 80 (+8).
Ellen Ceresko (Jefferson Township, PA) recorded a sub-80 round in the Girls 13-18 Division and 1st place when she posted a 78 (+6). Ceresko was fortunate enough to post 4 birdies on her card which came at the 1st, 9th, 10th and 16th holes. Nicole Cavalcante (East Norriton, PA) placed 2nd when she fired an 84 (+12) who edged out Beverly Pike (York, PA) by the narrowest of margins.
R.J. Wren (Morgantown, PA) got off to the right foot in the 9 Hole Division (Boys & Girls 10-12) after birdying the 3rd which put him at 1-under for his round. Wren finished his front nine at 41 (+5) which was good enough for 1st place. Franca Hurtado (Macungie, PA) placed 2nd after posting a 46 (+10) on her front nine.
