About the Philadelphia Section PGA Junior Tour
 

Providing fun and invaluable opportunities to get out and play, the Junior Golf Program leads the region in competitive Junior golf. The Philadelphia Section Junior Program membership ranges from ages 6-18. These young golfers represent all geographic areas of the Philadelphia Section PGA. The Philadelphia Section PGA Junior Tour conducts over 50 events seasonally at top facilities. All are enjoyable family friendly events (more).

Callaway Golf and the Philadelphia Section PGA Junior Tour will be offering Callaway Golf Hyper-Lite 3.0 Stand Bags at a special price of $110 to all members.  Bags will come with an embroidered junior tour logo and juniors will have the option to customize their bag with their name.  Juniors will have the option to choose from 4 available colors.

Kearns Victor at Home-Course Inniscrone

The Philadelphia Junior Tour concluded the summer season at Inniscrone Golf Club (Avondale, PA) on Wednesday, September 1, 2010. 18 players made it out to compete on the Par 70 ~ 6,657/6,319/5,677 yards long golf course. Kenny Kearns (Newark, DE) shot an impressive 75 (+5) at his home course to win the Boys 16-18 Division. Kearns made one birdie on the day at the par 4 13th hole. Following Kearns in second place was Luke Schweitzer (Huntingdon Valley, PA) with an 82 (+12). Ricky Betzler (Glen Mills, PA) rounded out the division with a 100 (+30).

Cooley and Clarke Shoot 1-Under at LuLu

Hot temperatures returned for the Philadelphia Junior Tour event at LuLu Country Club (North Hills, PA) on Tuesday, August 31, 2010. 36 players competed on the Par 71 ~ 6,433/6,032/5,456 yards long golf course. Ben Cooley (Rydal, PA) posted a 1-under-par 70 for first place in the Boys 16-18 Division. Cooley had a massive streak of birdies, making six birdies over seven holes on the back nine. Daniel Furman (Blue Bell, PA) made a 2-over-par 73 for second place in the division. Tied for third at 77 (+6) were Richard Thorpe (Jenkintown, PA) and Justin Smith (Jenkintown, PA).

Soeth Shoots Low at Edgmont CC

Edgmont Country Club, a new stop on the Philadelphia PGA Junior Tour schedule, hosted a tournament on Monday, August 30, 2010. 46 players competed on the challenging Par 70 ~ 6,537/6,077/5,503 yards long golf course. Sam Soeth (Newtown Square, PA) posted a 4-over-par 74 for first place in the Boys 13-15 Division. Soeth, a member at Edgmont Country Club, played consistently and made 15 pars on the day. Finishing in second place was Ethan Heller (Media, PA) with an 80 (+10), and Kevin Conners (Downingtown, PA) took third with an 84 (+14).

Weiner Places First at Radnor Valley

The Philadelphia Junior Tour held their first ever tournament at Radnor Valley Country Club (Villanova, PA) on Wednesday, August 25, 2010. With weather alternating between sunshine and breezy conditions, 68 players enjoyed a beautiful course under beautiful weather on the Par 70 ~ 6,527/6,189/5,571 yards long golf course. Aaron Weiner (Newark, DE), the 2010 Philadelphia Junior Tour Champion, took solo first place in the Boys 16-18 Division with a 5-over-par 75. Weiner made one birdie at the par 4 13th hole, which separated him from the three-way tie for second place at 77 (+7). Eric Slawter (Wayne, PA), Kyle Martin (Maple Glen, PA), and Braden Shattuck (Aston, PA) all came in at 7-over-par.

Rucinski Had All it Took at Willowbrook

The Philadelphia Junior Tour made a stop at Willowbrook Country Club on Tuesday, August 24, 2010. With the temperature barely making it to 70 degrees and grey skies all day, 20 players got an unexpected taste of fall on the Par 72 ~ 6,574/6,180/5,177 yards long golf course. Ryan Rucinski (Wilmington, DE) posted a 2-over-par 74 to win the Boys 13-15 Division. Rucinski birdied the par 5 13th hole, which allowed him to shoot even on the back nine. In second place with an 81 (+9) was Anthony Godleski (Somers Point, NJ). Third place went to Matthew Hartigan (Philadelphia, PA) with an 85 (+13). View More

Weiner and Rogowicz are 2010 Junior Tour Champions

The Militia Hill course at the Philadelphia Cricket Club (Plymouth Meeting, PA) hosted the final stop on the 2010 fiscal calendar for the Philadelphia Junior Tour on Monday, August 23, 2010. Junior golfers earned a spot in the field by finishing in tie for first place or better in their division during any event in 2010 and/or positioning themselves on top of a season-long points race. Fall-like temperatures welcomed the top players on tour at the par 72 ~ 6,816/5,702 yards long golf course.
