Why should I join the Philadelphia Junior Tour ~ College Series?

  • Venues include the top private and public courses in the Delaware Valley area.
  • All tournaments are within a reasonable driving distance
  • Excellent opportunities to prepare yourself for amateur and collegiate competitions
  • Ability to network with the best young Men and Women golfers in the Philadelphia Section PGA

I am currently enrolled in a Community College, Technical Institute, etc.  Does this make myself eligible for the Philadelphia Junior Tour ~ College Series?
Enrollment in post-secondary education like a Community College or Technical institute does make a competitor eligible for the Philadelphia Junior Tour ~ College Series as long as they meet the age requirements.

What are the age requirements for playing in a tournament on the Philadelphia Junior Tour ~ College Series?
Young men and women need to be at least 17 years of age and have not reached their 25th birthday by the day of the tournament you wish to participate in and currently enrolled in post-secondary education.
How do I register to become a member of the Philadelphia Junior Tour ~ College Series?

The most time efficient way to become a member of the Philadelphia Junior Tour ~ College Series is to visit the College Series homepage.  You will see a link on the right side of the home page reading "Become A Member."  Select that link.  A new page will open, fill in the prompts in regards to your personal information, select your level of membership, select if you wish to be a Premium Players Club member and be sure to have a credit card available to complete your membership registration.

Once you click register and payment has been submitted, a staff member of the Section will approve your membership application and your credit card will be charged.  You will receive a confirmation email with an ID & Password which will enable you to log-in to your Players Club Account and register for upcoming tournaments.  

  

If you wish to submit payment via check, a printable Membership Registration Form must accompany the check along with a parental consent form.

 

If you are 18 years of age or younger a Parental Consent Form must be emailed, mailed or faxed to the Philadelphia Section PGA office.  Your membership application will not be approved until this form is received and a junior may not participate in any tournaments until this form is received.

What credit cards may I use to pay for membership and tournaments?  Are checks allowed and who should they be made payable to? 

The Philadelphia Section PGA accepts Visa, Mastercard and American Express.  We do accept checks.  Please make them made payable to the Philadelphia Section PGA and mail them to:

Where may I find my ID & Password for my Players Club Account?

If you have forgotten your ID and/or password, please visit the homepage of the Philadelphia Junior Tour ~ College Series homepage.  On the right side of the homepage, locate the Junior Tour Login box.  Within the Junior Tour Login box, please select the link reading "Forgot Your Id or Password."  A new page will open with a prompt and please follow the instructions.

As a past Philadelphia Junior Tour member, I remember having to submit a Parental Consent Form for every season that I participated in.  Do Parental Consent Forms need to be submitted for the Philadelphia Junior Tour ~ College Series?
Parental Consent Forms only need to be submitted if you are 18 years of age or younger.

How does the tournament registration process work?

All tournament registrations operate on a first come first served basis.  The tournament registration will stay until two Friday's before the tournament date at 5:00 p.m. or until the maximum field size has been reached.  The open/close dates for each tournament's registration may be found by visiting the Philadelphia Junior Tour ~ College Series schedule and clicking the "info" link for the respective event.

How do I know I've been accepted into a Philadelphia Junior Tour ~ College Series tournament?

Each tournament transaction made is followed up with a registration acknowledgment email stating that your application is currently pending approval and when a decision has been made, a second email will be sent stating confirmation of acceptance into a tournament. 

When are tee times posted? 

Tee times are emailed to each tournament participant 1 week prior to the event.  Tee times are also made available to the public on the tournament information page for each event which may be found by visiting the Philadelphia Junior Tour ~ College Series schedule and clicking the "info" link for the respective event.

I need to withdraw from a tournament.  How do I proceed?

To withdraw from a tournament and it is more than one week prior to the tournament date, you may long into your Players Club Account and select "cancel" next to the event you wish to withdraw from.

 

If you are withdrawing from a tournament and it is less than one week prior to the tournament, please contact the PJT Staff via email or by phone.

Inclement weather is in the forecast which may cancel an upcoming tournament.  When will a decision be made and how will we be notified? 

Typically, depending on the severity of the storm/weather forecast, a decision will be made early in the morning on the day of the event. Once a decision has been made, an email to all players and an update on the homepage of the Philadelphia Junior Tour ~ College Series website will follow immediately. 

Are pull-carts permitted for College Series tournaments?
Pull-carts are permissible at the discretion of all host facilities. 
May a competitor use a distance measuring device during tournament play? 

For all play, a player may obtain distance information by using a device that measures distance only.  If, during a stipulated round, a player uses a distance-measuring device that is designed to gauge or measure other conditions that might affect his play (e.g. gradient, wind speed, temperature, etc.), the player is in breach of Rule 14-3, for which the penalty is disqualification, regardless of whether any such additional function is actually used. 

Are caddies allowed?

Caddies are prohibited at all Philadelphia Junior Tour ~ College Series events.  All junior participants must carry their own bags or use a non-motorized push cart.

How do I change my personal information on my Players Club Account?
Log in to your Players Club Account with the ID & Password that was provided when you registered for membership.  Once logged into your account there will be a "settings" link on the top right side of the webpage.  Select "settings" and you will have the opportunity to edit your profile, contact info, emergency contacts, transactions, change password and email settings.
What is the spectator policy?
Spectators are welcomed and encouraged at every Philadelphia Junior Tour ~ College Series event.  Spectator carts are prohibited for all spectators unless a state issued handicap placard ID # is submitted 1 week prior to the respective event.  As a spectator you must stay at least 50 yards away from the group you are following or stay on the cart path if the hole allows it.  Walking on the tees, fairways and greens are prohibited.  Neither Spectators nor competitors are allowed to give advice to competitors.  Information on the Rules of Golf or on matters of public information, such as positions of hazards or flagsticks are not considered advice.  To help the Philadelphia Section PGA Junior Tour with the pace of play, we encourage all spectators to follow one shot ahead of the group they are following and spot for lost golf balls.
How are ties decided? 
Stroke Play
(a) In the event of a tie in a scratch stroke-play competition, a play-off is recommended. The play-off may be over 18 holes or a smaller number of holes as specified by the Committee. If that is not feasible or there is still a tie, a sudden death hole-by-hole play-off is recommended (College Series Championship).

(b) In all other stroke-play competitions, if a play-off of any type is not feasible, the event will have co-champions.
Is there a limit to how many events a player may participate in?
There is not a minimum or maximum to the number of events a player may participate in.
