2015 Spring Schedule Released, Membership Now Open

The 2015 Philadelphia Junior Tour spring schedule has been released.  There are still more tournaments being added to the spring schedule so please check the website periodically for additional updates.  The entire 2015 Philadelphia Junior Tour schedule should be released around the turn of the new year.    If you have any questions about any tournaments in 2015, please don't hesitate to contact Tori or Brian at the Section office.

AJGA to Recognize PJT Events for PBE Status
The American Junior Golf Association will recognize all Elite Tour events on the Philadelphia Junior Tour beginning this season for PBE Status.  The low junior in the Boys 13-18 and Girls 13-18 Divisions at each Elite Tour event will receive 1 performance star if there are 40 boys or 12 girls in your respective age division (Boys 13-18 or Girls 13-18).  It is expected that there will be 7-10 Elite Tour events scheduled in 2014.
 
To be eligible for the Elite Tour, a junior has to in any round on the PJT since 2012, post a score of 79 or lower for boys and 89 or lower for girls at a par 70 or higher golf course. 

About the Philadelphia Junior Tour
Providing fun and invaluable opportunities to get out and play, the junior golf program leads the region in competitive Junior golf. The Philadelphia Section Junior Tour's membership ranges from ages 8-18. These young golfers represent all geographic areas of the Philadelphia Section. The Philadelphia Section PGA Junior Tour conducts over 70 events seasonally at top facilities. All are enjoyable family friendly events (more).

Penn State University PGM Program

The PGA Golf Management University Program, a 4.5 to 5 year college curriculum for aspiring PGA Professionals is offered at 19 PGA accredited universities nationwide.  The Pennsylvania State University located in State College, PA is the only PGA accredited university in the Philadelphia Section PGA.  For more information on the PGM Program at Penn State, please click here.


University of Maryland Eastern Shore PGM Program
UMES (Princess Anne, MD) is one of only 19 schools in the U.S. with a PGM Program accredited by The PGA of America. This comprehensive program is within the Hotel and Restaurant Management Department at UMES. The four and a half year program integrates the curriculum requirements of an HRM major with the knowledge base of the PGM Program, including structured internship experience and a Playing Ability Test (more).
